Glossary -- Landforms: Pour-Overs vs. Waterfalls
pour-over Pour-over. Also called a "dry fall" or "pour-off," a usually dry waterfall. A place in a wash or canyon where water, if it were flowing, would "pour over" a ledge to form a waterfall. Note that pour-overs always look higher and harder to climb from above, so consider the situation carefully before climbing up.
waterfall Waterfall. A place where a perennial stream or river falls or cascades over a cliff.

Happy hiking! All distances, elevations, and other facts are approximate.
