Shaman Knob Camp
Camp at Shaman Knob (view W)

Overview

There are no developed campgrounds in Basin and Range National Monument, in fact no facilities of any kind, but primitive camping is legal everywhere along existing roads and trails, and there are a number of traditional campsites scattered throughout the area.

The Shaman Knob Campsite, located in the Mt. Irish Archaeological District at Shaman Knob, provides campers with a nice primitive campsite. The spur road into the site usually requires at least a 2WD medium-clearance vehicle. The wide parking area provides space for tents, and there are more nestled against the rocks. This is a Native American campsite, so use it gently. Pack it in - Pack it out.
