The Friends of Gold Butte Visitor Center is a community resource, unaffiliated with the federal government, that provides information to the public about Gold Butte National Monument.

The Visitor Center is staffed mostly by volunteers, so hours change from season to season. Check the Friends of Gold Butte website for current conditions.

Stop in to find answers to your questions, to learn about interesting new places, to tell us why you like Gold Butte, or to pick up a detailed map of the roads and places to visit in Gold Butte. Local residents might also stop in to investigate volunteer opportunities and the outings schedule.

Keep an eye out for arts exhibits where local artists can show off their works inspired by Gold Butte National Monument.

Getting to Friends of Gold Butte Visitor Center

The Friends of Gold Butte Visitor Center is located outside of Gold Butte National Monument in Mesquite, Nevada, about 1-1/4 hours northeast of Las Vegas.

From Las Vegas, drive out Interstate 15 to Mesquite. Take Exit 120 into Mesquite. At the traffic circle at the bottom of the off-ramp, continue "straight" (2nd exit) onto Mesquite Blvd. Continue east on Mesquite Blvd for about 2.2 miles to Yucca Street. Turn right onto Yucca and immediately arrive at the strip mall on the right. The Visitor Center is located in the middle of the complex.

From places north, take Interstate 15 south to Mesquite. Take Exit 122 and turn left at the bottom of the ramp onto Pioneer/Sandhill Blvd. Continue south on Sandhill to Mesquite Blvd where right-turning traffic does not stop. Continue west two blocks to Yucca Street. Turn left onto Yucca; the Visitor Center is located on the right.
