Hiking Around Las Vegas, Lake Mead National Recreation Area

Goldstrike Canyon Trailhead (Goldstrike Hot Springs) is located along Interstate 11 near Hoover Dam in Lake Mead National Recreation Area, about 45 minutes southeast of downtown Las Vegas. Access has changed since the construction of Interstate 11. From town, drive south on Highway 93/95 towards Kingman, Arizona. Highway 93 becomes Interstate 11. Stay on Interstate 11 until past Boulder City. Watch for signs: Exit #2, Highway 93 Business, Boulder City, and Hoover Dam. Take Nevada Exit #2. The exit off-ramp leads into a round-about; take the first right (turn away from the Interstate). Cross a cattle guard, then stay right into a dirt parking lot on the right, which is visible from the exit ramp. Park here, this is the Goldstrike Canyon Trailhead. Link to Trailhead Map. |
