General Description: Tundra Swans (Cygnus columbianus) are large, sexually monomorphic waterfowl. In adults, the entire body is white, the bill is black, and there is a bit of yellow between the eye and the bill. Tundra Swans hold their neck straight up. In juveniles, the body is gray, turning white with age.

Taxonomy: Anseriformes, Anatidae, Anserinae

Favored Habitat: Ponds and marshes.

Where to Find: Around Las Vegas, Tundra Swans are generally uncommon, but look for them during winter in places like Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge and lakes and ponds farther north in Nevada and over in California.
