General Description: Buff-breasted Flycatchers (Empidonax fulvifrons) are the smallest North American flycatchers. They are brown above, cinnamon below, and have bold white eye-rings and two white wingbars. The bill is short, and the lower mandible is orange.

Taxonomy: Passeriformes, Tyrannidae, Tyranninae.

Where to Find: Don't look for Buff-breasted Flycatchers around Las Vegas. Rather, look for them in pine-oak woodlands with a shrubby understory in southeastern Arizona and southwestern New Mexico south into Central America.
