Cedar Waxwing (Bombycilla cedrorum)

General Description: Cedar Waxwings (Bombycilla cedrorum) are sleek, reddish-gray birds with a brown crest, black face mask bordered with white lines, and a yellow band across the end of the tail.

Taxonomy: Passeriformes, Bombycillidae.

Favored Habitat: Places with berries and fruit.

Where to Find: Around Las Vegas, Cedar Waxwings occur everywhere, but nowhere when you specifically go looking for them, so there is no reliable place to look. Even so, keep an eye out for Cedar Waxwings at Corn Creek and in urban parks and yards.
