Invertebrates Around Las Vegas, Wildlife Around Las Vegas

Skippers (Taxonomic Order: Lepidoptera; or commonly "Lepidopterans"), like butterflies and moths, are insects with two pairs of membranous wings. Skippers tend to be brightly colored, fly quickly and erratically during the day, and have antennae with long stalks and a hooked knob on the end.

There are many species of skippers around Las Vegas. I have no intention of listing them all; my intent is to present a few interesting species that caught my eye. For More Information: See the Butterflies and Moths website.
