Lorquin's Admirals (Limenitis lorquini)

General: Lorquin's Admiral Butterflies (Limenitis lorquini) are large butterflies recognized by their orange wing tips where the orange goes all the way to the tip. There is a white band across the middle of both wings, and on the hindwing, there are no marks beyond the white medial stripe.

Taxonomy: Family: Brush-footed Butterflies (Nymphalidae); Subfamily: Admirals (Limenitidinae).

Comments: Occur throughout western-most North America.
