Green Anole (Anolis carolinensis)

Description: Green Anoles (Anolis carolinensis), also called Carolina Anoles, are small-bodied lizards with a very long tail and a long snout. They can be all green, green with a light dorsal stripe and light stripes on the sides, or all brown with or without stripes. The lips and throat are white. Green Anoles can change from green to brown.

Taxonomy: Family: Polycrotidae.

Favored Habitat:

Where to Find: Don't look for Green Anoles around Las Vegas. Rather, look for them in northern Florida and across the south.
