CH-47 Chinook Helicopters are used to transport ground forces, supplies, ammunition, artillery, small vehicles, and other cargo. The interior cabin can accommodate a 105mm howitzer gun crew, including the howitzer and a Humvee vehicle to pull it. Alternatively, the cabin can hold 33 fully-equipped troops or 24 stretchers during medical evacuation. Three external hooks permit lifting nearly 26,000 pounds, and the aircraft can fly at 184 mph.
