Plane Spotting Around the Boulder City Municipal Airport Plane Spotting, Aircraft Around Las Vegas |
||||||||
The Boulder City Municipal Airport (FAA Identifier: 61B), is located about 15 miles south of Las Vegas off Veterans Memorial Drive, on the southwest side of Boulder City (1401 Airport Road, Boulder City, Nevada 89005). Several areas around the terminal and other building provide good plane spotting, and public restrooms are located inside of the terminal. This small airport is quite busy, and only 4- and 8-foot fences block the view, plane spotters can get up close and personal with the aircraft. Elevated positions on the north side of the airport get you above the fences and buildings for good views of the airport and surrounding areas. The edge of the cemetery on the east side of the airport also provides good views. The airport manager welcomes plane spotters, but be sure to stay outside the fence. The Boulder City Municipal Airport is used by pilots and passengers for personal, business, and recreational flying activities, and it offers aeronautical services such as charter and air taxi flights, flight training, parachuting, emergency medical evacuation, and transport. Several fixed wing, helicopter tour, and parachute outfits work out of this airport. |
