Description

The Ash Meadows Visitor Center is new and packed with information about the area. When it is open, find helpful staff and interesting displays inside. When closed, find restroom facilities and an exterior information kiosk near the front door.

Inside, learn about the area with interactive exhibits, watch the Ash Meadows movie, and support the refuge in the bookstore.

While in the Visitor Center area, consider waking the boardwalk to Crystal Spring. The trail starts behind to the visitor Center and runs south to make a loop.

Location

The Ash Meadows Visitor Center is located on the Ash Meadows National Wildlife, about 2 hours northwest of Las Vegas. The easiest way to get there from Las Vegas is to drive north on Highway 95 for about 90 miles to Highway 373 at Amargosa Valley. Turn left onto Highway 373 and drive south towards Death Valley Junction for 14.5 miles to Spring Meadows Road. Turn left onto Spring Meadows Road and drive east into the refuge. At 5.5 miles from the highway, turn right onto the Visitor Center Access Road, which leads quickly to the Visitor Center (Table 1, Site 1588).
