Quail Run Trail (view NE) |
Description
Duck Creek, on the southeast side of the Las Vegas Valley, is part of the Clark County Wetlands Park along Las Vegas Wash. Duck Creek Trailhead provides access to three accessible trails, inducing the Quail Run Trail. This trail runs north from the parking area, whereas the other trails run east through the picnic area. The Quail Run Trail is paved out to Dragonfly Divide, and benches invite birders to sit, relax, and listen to the birds. For details of the Duck Creek area, including location details, fees, etc., see the Duck Creek Trailhead webpage.
From the trailhead to the end of the paved trail, the trail winds through mesquite and shrub thickets for 0.34 miles. Birders can look for winged creatures in the trees, shrubs, and in the sky. At Dragonfly Divide, birds can turn left towards the Wetlands Park Visitor Center, continues east into the duck ponds, or turn right to head south and return via on of the two other paved trails. |
