Glossary -- Landforms: Pour-Overs vs. Waterfalls |

Pour-over. Also called a "dry fall" or "pour-off," a usually dry waterfall. A place in a wash or canyon where water, if it were flowing, would "pour over" a ledge to form a waterfall. Note that pour-overs always look higher and harder to climb from above, so consider the situation carefully before climbing up. |

Waterfall. A place where a perennial stream or river falls or cascades over a cliff. |
