Garden Valley Crags
Garden Valley Crags is a geologic feature where volcanic ash from volcanoes to the east spread across the landscape and solidified. Over time, most of the ash has eroded way, but these crags remain. This is a great place to stop while driving through Basin and Range National Monument to stretch the legs and perhaps eat lunch while wandering around the highly eroded formations.
The rock is somewhat crumbly, so always be careful when high enough to fall and get hurt.
Location
Garden Valley Crags is located in the south end of Garden Valley along Mail Summit Road. |
