Overview
Little Finland (aka Hobgoblin Playground and Devils Fire) is a fascinating area where wind and water have sculpted red sandstone rock into fantastical shapes that rival the best of other areas in the southwestern deserts. From the main trailhead, a short scramble leads up into Little Finland.
For people who can't manage the 4rd-class scramble on the main route but have a 4WD vehicle, consider driving to the northern trailhead. From there, the walking is sandy, but easy, to the edge of the sculpted rocks.
This area is a major attraction for photographers. See some fine photography here, and additional ordinary photos here.
