General: Colorado Blue Columbine (Aquilegia coerulea) is a low-growing, leafy perennial forbs with upright flower
stalks. The leaves are dissected into three lobes. The enormous white, pink, or blue flowers have striking wings and tails.
Colorado Blue Columbine is an uncommon component of vegetation communities in dry, well-drained gravelly areas on bajadas into the lower mountains in the Transition (Yellow Pine Forest) and Canadian (Pine-Fir Forest) life zones at elevations of about 7,000 to 12,000 ft.
