General: Crescent Milkvetch (Astragalus amphioxys) is a perennial forb that has compound, hairy leaves and purple "pea" flowers. The seedpods are about 1-inch long and crescent shaped.
Crescent Milkvetch is an uncommon component of vegetation communities
in dry, well-drained gravelly areas on bajadas into the lower mountains in the Upper Sonoran (Mojave
Desert Scrub) life zone.
Around Las Vegas, look for Crescent Milkvetch in desert areas such as the Valley of Fire and in lower-elevation mountain areas up on Mt. Charleston.
