General: Desert Snowberry (Symphoricarpos longiflorus) is a large, spreading shrub that has
thick, opposite leaves and reddish, tubular flowers that tend to hang downward.
Desert Snowberry is an uncommon component of vegetation communities in dry, well-drained gravelly areas on upper bajadas into the mountains in the Upper Sonoran (Pinyon-Juniper Woodland), Transition (Yellow Pine Forest), and Canadian (Pine-Fir Forest) life zones.
Around Las Vegas, look for Desert Snowberry in higher-elevation desert canyons around Red Rock Canyon NCA and up onto the Spring Mountains and Sheep Range.
