General Description: Rio Grande Leopard Frogs (Lithobates berlandieri) are small, tan to green frogs with light lines around the dark spots on the greenish back. Dorsolateral folds prominent, yellow; segmented towards the groin and deflected inwards in that area.
Taxonomy: Order Frogs and Toads (Anura); Family American Water Frogs (Ranidae). Formerly Rio Grande Leopard Frog (Rana berlandieri).
Technical Description:
Diet: Insects.
Habitat: Desert riparian habitats along permanent streams, springs, and water impoundments.
Range: Not around Las Vegas. Southern New Mexico to central Texas and south into Mexico.
