General Description: Green-winged Teal (Anas crecca) are small, sexually dimorphic pond ducks. Males are light gray on the body with black-and-white hind quarters, and they have a reddish-brown (chestnut) head with a large green patch behind the eye. Females are mottled brown overall. Both genders have green on the upper surface of the wing that usually is concealed, but it shows in flight.
