General Description: Black Swans (Cygnus atratus) are large, sexually monomorphic domestic waterbirds with very long necks. In adults, the entire body
is black except for the bill, which is red with a white band near the tip.
Taxonomy: Anseriformes, Anatidae, Anserinae
Favored Habitat: Wild Black Swans prefer wetlands and marshes in southern Australia. The domestic birds found elsewhere probably prefer urban ponds and gardens.
Where to Find: Around Las Vegas, check the Gilcrease Wildlife Sanctuary
