General Description: Trumpeter Swans (Cygnus buccinator) are large, sexually monomorphic waterfowl. In adults, the entire body
is white, and the bill is all black. In juveniles, the body is
gray, turning white with age. Swans hold their neck straight up, and there can be a bit or orange or red on the lips.

Where to Find: Don't look for Trumpeter Swans around Las Vegas. Rather, look for them from northern Nevada north to Alaska. Around Las Vegas, keep an eye out for them during winter in places like Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge and Overton Wildlife Management Area.
Comments: Trumpeter Swan are the largest species of waterfowl in the world.
