General Description: Blue-headed Vireos (Vireo solitarius) are small, sexually monomorphic songbirds with a big voice and an eyering with a line over the bridge of the nose that gives the bird the appearance of wearing glasses. They have a gray head, white wingbars, and yellowish on the body. This is the eastern form of the Cassin's Vireo.
Taxonomy: Passeriformes, Vireonidae. Formerly lumped with Cassin's Vireo and Plumbeous Vireo as the Solitary Vireo.
Where to Find: Don't look for Blue-headed Vireos around Las Vegas. Rather, look for them in the eastern forests during summer and along the Gulf Coast during winter.
