General Description: Carolina Chickadees (Poecile carolinensis) are small, black-and-white, sexually monomorphic songbirds with big voices. They have gray wings and tail, a pale belly, white cheeks, a black hood down to the eye, and a black bib.
Taxonomy: Passeriformes, Paridae.
Favored Habitat: Evergreen and deciduous forests at mid- and lower elevations.
Where to Find: Don't look for Carolina Chickadees around Las Vegas. Rather, look for them in the southeastern US.
