General Description: Green-tailed Towhees (Pipilo chlorurus) are large, sexually monomorphic sparrows. They are gray overall with a red cap and yellow-green on the back of the head and on the wings. The throat is white.

Favored Habitat: Shrubby mountain canyons.
Where to Find: Around Las Vegas, look for Green-tailed Towhees up on Mt. Charleston and in other mountain ranges around Las Vegas.
