Description

Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs is located on the broad, flat northwestern edge of the Las Vegas Valley. The main park area sits on low rolling hills that are the result of spring deposits (mud) that have built up over the millennia. The springs feed four lakes and connecting steams, providing water for aquatic vegetation, trees, lawns, and Odonates. Beyond the ponds, the park stretches out into the open desert.

Dragonflies: Rhionaeschna multicolor (blue-eyed darner), Anax junius (common green darner), Libellula luctuosa (widow skimmer), Libellula saturata (flame skimmer), Pachydiplax longipennis (blue dasher), Pantala hymenaea (spot-winged glider), Perithemis intensa (mexican amberwing), Sympetrum corruptum (variegated meadowhawk), Tramea lacerata (black saddlebags).

Damselflies: Hetaerina americana (american rubyspot), Argia moesta (powdered dancer), Argia sedula (blue-ringed dancer), Enallagma basidens (double-striped bluet), Enallagma carunculatum (tule bluet), Enallagma civile (familiar bluet), Ischnura cervula (pacific forktail).
