General: Desert Lily (Hesperocallis undulata) is a perennial forb that grows as a few long, narrow, wavy-margined basal leaves and a flowering stalk with large lily flowers. Large, three chambered seed pods persist on the stalk. The plant grows from a bulb.
Desert Lily is a fairly common, occasionally abundant, component of vegetation communities in dry, well-drained sandy areas on desert flats in the Lower Sonoran (Creosote-Bursage Flats) life zone.
