Alkali Buttercup is a fairly common component of vegetation communities in wet areas, especially saline sites, from lower elevations into the high mountains in the Lower Sonoran (Creosote-Bursage Flats), Upper Sonoran (Mojave Desert Scrub and Pinyon-Juniper Woodland), Transition (Yellow Pine Forest), Canadian (Pine-Fir Forest), and Hudsonian (Bristlecone Pine Forest) life zones.
