General Description: Ross's Geese (Chen rossii) are small geese that are entirely white except for the black wing tips (primary feathers). The bill is small and all pink (lacks the black lips of Snow Geese).
Taxonomy: Anseriformes, Anatidae, Anserinae
Favored Habitat: Ponds and marshes.
Where to Find: Ross' Geese are not common around Las Vegas, but they do migrate through the desert southwest to winter at the Salton Sea, so keep an eye out for them at the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve, the Pahranagat Valley, and the Overton Wildlife Management Area. They also seem to have taken up residence at Sunset Park.
